The Freedom Room is an online support community , within which the core is a support forum for Survivors of S/RA. The Freedom Room is a place designed to help survivors communicate together, on their recovery journeys from all types of S/RA and P/MC .
At TFR, we will support members in working towards either goal, and believe that in whichever path they take each person deserves the empowerment to walk towards their place of light and healing. Throughout the main web page Click here we have used letters instead of spelling out full words that would otherwise be triggering to many
Being a Survivor of S/RA is an amazing accomplishment in itself. To survive continual acts of horrific abuse is some mean feat , and that is very much appreciated here . During the process of healing , escaping, staying safe, and indulging new found freedom, it is likely that a survivor will experience a major reality shift, and see life, themselves, their future and their purpose from a completely different perspective. Whether this is due to P/MC or otherwise , these thoughts, feelings and beliefs are very real and are openly acknowledged.
The healing process, independence and self empowerment are encouraged here. We believe that breaking the silence and stepping out in the road towards freedom is the first step toward recovery. It is ultimate aim to provide a safe, accepting and healing environment for survivors to speak out and gain support in their journeys , and give support in return.
Its important to acknowledge the profound difficulties and need for support victims of extreme abuse have and, in particular, the phenomenal difficulties that P/MC survivors struggle with on a daily basis. The main aim is to help people achieve their maximum potential and aim towards light and healing.
For more information on our approach to care and beliefs , please see the links at the bottom of the page . Also, please note the online safety guidelines for both use on this site and the internet as a whole .
We treat anything shared on the forums as confidential, thus showing respect to each individual on TFR.
Please go gently and carefully.
Use this place as a stepping stone towards healing and liberation from the past, and those that harm. Take your time. You may need to be cautious when entering certain parts of the forum.
Perhaps avoid marked out warning areas if you are feeling at all unsafe or vulnerable. In this space you can share feelings, fears, doubts, good times and bad and receive support from fellow survivors of S/RA, who are experiencing similar difficulties.
You may speak freely without identifying yourself to anything that may link back to you personally. We acknowledge that the road to healing and survival may at times feel very laborious and frightening , but you don't have to go through it alone anymore-WELCOME !
The green-orange ribbon reminds me of the sun rising each day on the fresh green fields of my new life--life not necessarily without problems and echoes from the past, but life in which I know I can CHOOSE not to suffer from my problems. ~ Anon
